Daniel McNitt's Family

 Daniel and Mary had the following children:

• Alexander McNETT, born in 1776 at Salem; died in 1845 at Northville, La Salle, IL. Alexander married Mary E. COOK born in 1778; died in 1849 at Northville.
• Sarah McNITT, born on 2 February 1779 at Salem; died on 28 December 1858 at Salem. Sarah married Thomas McCLAUGHRY on 22 December 1800/1 at Salem. He was born on 20 January 1779 at Salem; died on 18 September 1842 at Salem.
• Lydia McNITT married first Luther GAULT. She married second Robert JACKSON.
• James McNITT, born on 22 January 1782 at Salem; died on 27 January 1861 at Salem; buried at the cemetery on the family farm. James married Lydia MARTIN, who died on 17 May 1846 at Salem.
• Betsey McNITT married Daniel WHIPPLE.
• Benjamin McNITT, born on 9 January 1785 at Salem; died on 19 December 1851 at Wheatfield, Niagara, NY; buried at Mapleton Road Cemetery, Wheatfield. Benjamin married first Rebecca WORDEN born on 21 November 1789; died on 5 April 1846 at Wheatfield; buried at Mapleton Road Cemetery, Wheatfield. Benjamin married second Louisa COX born in 1793 at VT; died in 1872 at Cambria, Niagara, NY.
• Elijah McNITT, died April 1823 at Brutus, Cayuga, NY. Elijah married Esther WHITMORE.
• Daniel McNITT, born on 29 July 1788 at Salem.
• Polly McNITT, born on 1790/1 at Salem; died on 9 February 1855 at North Hebron, Washington, NY; buried at North Hebron Cemetery, North Hebron. It is not known for sure if this Mary Thompson, wife of Andrew, is Daniel's daughter Polly, but Polly's married name was Thompson.
• Stephen McNITT, born at Salem; died December 1847 at Cato, Cayuga, NY. Stephen married Nancy GAULT on 30 December 1820 at Cato. She was born in 1801/2 at NY; died on 6 February 1891.
